Sacramento, CA — Legislative leaders say they´re close to agreeing on a record $30 billion public works bond measure that would go on the November ballot.
They hope to get it approved by lawmakers Thursday. Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata says the leaders have pretty much agreed on the size of the bond and how much of it to spend on transportation improvements, school construction, flood control upgrades and other projects.
Perata says the four leaders are going over proposed bill language to make sure it means what they think it does.
