Relay For Life Comes To A Close
Sonora, CA — The American Cancer Society´s Relay For Life came to a close over the weekend with some very impressing fundraising numbers.
Summerville High School hosted the Tuolumne County event which raised $106,000. 35 teams participated in the 24 hour event which started at 10AM Saturday. Participants walked for exactly 24 hours. The leading team totaled $2,200.
In addition to doubling race donation from a year ago, the amount of funds raised from relay gear sold also doubled.
53 teams participated in the Calaveras County Relay For Life. Spokesman Jerry Olivers report a little more than $193,000 was raised and ” … we´re still counting.”
