Stomach Flu Hits Angels Camp Senior Home
Angels Camp, CA — A bad bout of the stomach flu has run through the Foothill Village assisted living center in Angels Camp.
Calaveras County Public Health Department officials say about 54 residents of the center were affected.
First reports of the Noro Virus or Cruise Ship virus began at the center April 8. Officials say with so many people living in one home, the virus spread quickly.
Its been happening throughout the state including cases in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.
Public Health has seemed to successfully control the spread of the virus by placing restrictions on the facility. For example, restricting visitors, extra cleaning, and limiting group activities.
Those restrictions may be lifted soon since, as of Monday, the center hadn´t had a new report of the virus in 5 days.
