Sewer Rates May Go Up In Valley Springs

Sponsored by:

Valley Springs, CA — The Valley Springs Public Utility District will hold a hearing Wednesday to discuss whether it should hike up its sewer rates.

The district has about 270 customers in the area.

Sewer rates would go from $27.50 to $49.50 per month.

District General Manager Mike Fischer says the increase is just to pay the bills. He says the district has been running into the red almost every month.

The board will also look at adding a $5 infrastructure fee to water and sewer bills.

Wednesday´s meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the district´s office in Valley Springs.

There will be a public comment period then the board will take a vote. The increase would take effect immediately.
