Levee Breach In West Calaveras
Sponsored by:
Valley Springs, CA — At 4:30 p.m., Friday 70 to 80 feet of a levee in West Calaveras failed.
New Hogan Dam reached capacity earlier today and the Army Corps of Engineers began releasing water, which created high flows in the channels below.
A levee in the channel system was breached and is flooding agriculture land in the area west of the intersection of Milton and Jenny Lind Road.
There is currently no threat to homes.
