San Andreas, CA — On account of a pesticide violation by a private business, Calaveras County has a new Ford pick up.
Davey Tree Surgery was cited in 2004 for a series of pesticide application violations. As a result it paid the Department of Agriculture a $25,000 settlement.
A stipulation of the settlement says the county must use the money for investigation and prosecution of environmental offenses.
Agricultural Commissioner Mary Mutz says the new truck will be used for pesticide use related activities.
