Calaveras Cracks Down On Junk Cars
San Andreas, CA — Some extra money will go towards removing junk cars in Calaveras County this year.
Monday the Board of Supervisors OK´d giving the removal program $15,000 from liens placed on people´s homes after nuisance abatement clean ups.
Code Compliance Supervisor Todd Barr says the program has towed 700 vehicles and this new money would allow for towing 150 more.
Right now the county uses 3 flat bed trailers for towing operations. Its goal is to have a 30-day turnaround time from the time a car is reported.
