Culvert Work Closes Highway 120 For Weeks
Groveland, CA — Motorists traveling on Highway 120 need to allow for extra driving time.
Tom Wills with the CHP says the Highway east of Old Priest Grade is closed due to a culvert that gave out.
Wills says repairs on that road could take longer than a month. He advises residents and commuters to use Old Priest Grade as long as the weather allows for the narrow road to remain open.
Due to weight standards trucks are advised to use Highway 49 to Coulterville, then Greeley Hill Road to Smith Station, then back to Highway 120.
Wills advises companies who use big rigs to contact their vendors to let them know about the alternate route prior to heading out. Caltrans officials will begin work on the road when weather conditions allow.
