Jamestown, CA — Hundreds of Mother Lode residents´ ears are still ringing after riding vintage steam trains over the weekend.
If you live anywhere near Jamestown, the season opening of Railtown 1897 was hard to miss.
The trains roared through the station, without hesitating to use their horns.
Tuolumne and Calaveras County residents rode for free, which helped to pack every one of the five trains.
One conductor said each train had more than 200 people on it.
Organizers say the free rides draw locals to Jamestown and repeat visitors during the summer.
