CHP Promotes Sharing Calaveras County Roadways
Valley Springs, CA — This Saturday more than 1,200 bicycle riders will be utilizing State highways and County roads in the Wallace and Valley Springs areas of Calaveras County in an organized event.
The California Highway Patrol is reminding all drivers and cyclists that the rules of the road apply equally for both.
Cyclists are required to ride in single file as close to the right as possible. CHP officials say drivers of motor vehicles can only pass when it is legal and safe to do so.
Officers say it is possible to safely share the roadways by taking a little extra time, being courteous and driving safely.
