The EDC Calls It Quits After Months Of Transition
Sonora, CA — The Economic Development Company will close its doors in April.
Jim Riggs with the EDC says that although the company has accomplished a great deal over the past several years, it has become very clear that support for the current way the organization is structured has declined.
Riggs says the closure is temporary and he is optimistic that a new organization will be formed in the next four to six months.
George Segarini with the Chamber of Commerce says a taskforce is being developed to review economic development support needs for the region.
Segarini says the taskforce will be made up of members of the EDC Board of Directors, Chamber of Commerce members, and the general public.
