Sonora Regional Medical Center Joins National Campaign

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Regional Medical Center has joined the Institute for Healthcare Improvement´s “100,000 Lives Campaign.”

This is a national quality initiative committed to implementing changes to improve patient care and save lives. The campaign focuses on improving how patients are cared for when they are most at risk for infection, complications and adverse outcomes.

As part of the campaign, Sonora Regional has undertaken a number of measures including activating a rapid response team, the prevention of medication errors, the prevention of patients undergoing surgery from developing infections and the prevention of patients on ventilators from developing pneumonia.

According to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, more than 3,000 hospitals in all 50 states and the District of Columbia are participating in the “100,000 Lives Campaign.”
