Arnold, CA — A group of Chapel In The Pines parishioners recently returned home from helping Hurricane Katrina victims and are forever changed by their experience.
With tool bags in hand, 40 carpenters and other skilled laborers, left a week ago bound for Mississippi. They ended up making improvements to 11 homes and 11 families.
One family had been sleeping on a single mattress on the concrete floor. That home received new interior framing, sheet rock and 800 feet of new tile.
Group leader Clayton Smith said the group worked physically and were rewarded emotionally.
He added there´s a lot more work to be done.
