Tuolumne General Hospital Upgrades Osteoporosis Treatment

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne General Hospital has introduced the QCT PRO 3D Spine/CTXA hip bone densitometry system.

Quantitative computed tomography (QCT) is the most accurate manner of diagnosing osteoporosis. It is accomplished by measuring only the trabecular bone in the lower T-spine/upper L-spine.

Bone Mineral Density (BMD) is a key predictor of the fracutre risk associated with osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases. QCT and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging are noninvasive methods for assessment of bone strength and bone loss.
