Two Suspects Arrested After Fatal Shooting Of CHP Officer

Stockton, CA– Two suspects are in custody in Stockton following the death of a CHP officer this morning.
Tom Wills with the Sonora area CHP office says former Sierra Conservation Center correctional officer Earl Scott was shot and killed during a traffic stop near Modesto.
The CHP says the officer was gunned down around 4:40 this morning after making a traffic stop on Highway 99 in the community of Ripon. Local authorities along with law enforcement in Stanislaus County are investigating the scene.
Authorities are not sure of the suspects´ involvement in the death at this point. Wills says Highway 99 is now open.
