Arts Council Says Art In Education Benefits Community

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Art and education go hand in hand as far as the Central Sierra Arts Council is concerned.

Art Annex Workshop Coordinator B.Z. Smith says it is their focus to bring a lively arts experience to all of the children of Tuolumne County.

The Arts Reach to Schools is a program that Smith says is supported financially by many schools in the county.

She says the arts education is integrated into the other subject areas to give students the most creative learning experience possible.

Smith says there is strong evidence that art education benefits children academically through problem solving, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

More information about the Central Sierra Arts Council can be heard this weekend on Mother Lode Views.
