Calaveras Sheriff’s Department Investigating Boating Death

New Melones, CA — An Arnold man is dead following a boating accident at New Melones Lake.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department says a passerby discovered a small aluminum boat beached on the East side of the Angels Creek inlet Sunday.
Reports indicate 57-year-old Richard Soloman was found in the water next to the boat.
Deputies say the boat had run into the embankment at a high speed and Soloman was ejected from the boat. The investigation is ongoing.
