Sonora Parolee Apprehended After Weekend Car Chase

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — An 18-year-old parolee is back behind bars after leading officers on a wild chase Saturday night.

Lieutenant Mark Stinson of the Sonora Police Department says a citizen called in to report a car driving erratically east bound on Mono Way just before 9:00.

Stinson says the suspect car driven by Jared Todd of Sonora was located in the Wal Mart parking lot a short time later.

When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, Todd apparently began to drive around the parking lot and then onto Sanguinetti Road. The chase eventually led back to Mono Way and then to Stewart Street in Sonora.

Stinson says Todd attempted to flee on foot after crashing the vehicle into a metal post and a house at Elkin and Stewart Streets.

He was quickly apprehended and booked into the county jail on charges of DUI and evasion. He is also being held on a no-bail parole violation.
