Arnold Residents Urged To Conserve Water

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Water District is urging residents of the greater Arnold area to conserve their water resources for the next 48 hours.

Spokeswoman Corinne Thornburg says the recent storms have created an accelerated level of sediment in the water system, which is inhibiting the system´s ability to filter and pump fresh water.

She says available water supplies are treated, filtered and completely safe, but turbidity in the supply waters is making it difficult to replenish a fresh water reserve.

She says the water supply should settle down after the present storm moves through. Until then, residents should be mindful of their water consumption.
