Board Of Supervisors Postpone Action On Jamestown Landfill

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has called for a special meeting on December 27th to further discuss the Jamestown Landfill.

At today´s regular meeting, the board postponed action on amending a contract approved with Geomatrix Consultants on May 8, 2007. The original contract called for the company to receive $239,400 to design repairs for the final cover system of the landfill.

Geomatrix is requesting $87,000 additional to address unforeseen problems, notably slippage in the cover. The postponement was at the advice of County Counsel so that there is proper notification and because the contracts were not in legal form.

The special meeting will begin at 10am, December 27th, in the Board Chambers.
