Sonora, CA — Thanks to a new partnership between Golden State Cellular and the Tuolumne Utilities District cell phone coverage will greatly improve in the very near future.
The relationship calls for Golden State Cellular to install antennas on a number of T.U.D. water tanks. Three antennas will be placed on the Ridgewood water tank. Single antennas will be placed on tanks in the Lyons-Bald Mountain area and the Indian Rock area of East Sonora.
According to General Manager Pete Kampa, T.U.D. will receive 32 hand-held camera-phones and 21 truck mounted phones to expedite field business in monitoring flows in the district´s ditches.
Golden State Cellular will pay a monthly lease of $1,950 for the placement of the antennas.
