Sacramento, Ca — 16 volunteers from the Sacramento-Sierra Chapter of the American Red Cross, and an Emergency Response Vehicle, are headed to the Pacific Northwest to help those affected by the recent severe weather that has led to flooding.
Volunteers deployed were asked to serve at least two weeks on disaster relief assignment, and will be serving in numerous roles.
Spokesperson Courtney Miller says many will be working in shelters to make sure that those affected have food and a safe place to sleep. Others will help assemble disaster relief kits, or participate in the damage assessment process.
