Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — CAL FIRE crews from the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit will be heading to southern California today in anticipation of ever dangerous fire conditions.

The U.S. Weather Service is predicting an increase in Santa Ana winds near the end of the week and taking a proactive stance, CAL FIRE crews from throughout the state are descending on southern California.

The Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit, according to Emergency Command Center Battalion Chief Mike Olivarria, will be sending three strike teams of engines (15 engines), one dozer strike team (2 dozers) and five crew strike teams (10 crews).

At the same time, Olivarria states that plenty of resources will remain in the Mother Lode over the Thanksgiving Day weekend. He adds that all leaves have been cancelled in the unit.
