And The Winners Are (Part II) …

Sonora, CA — Kathy Horak and Tom Atkin joined the list of award winners Thursday evening at the 2007 Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce Installation and Honors Banquet at the Sonora Elks Lodge.

Horak has spent 22 years as a member of the Summerville High School faculty developing courses in computerized accounting using Quickbooks, office occupations, computer applications and advanced keyboarding. She has served as class advisor for four terms (16 years).

Named as Citizen of the Year was Tom Atkin who has accumulated 37 years of community service including the last three with Animal Control. Over the years Atkin has received merit certificates for his excellent performance in the 1987 Stanislaus Complex Fire and honorable service in the campaign against marijuana planting.

The final two Student of the Year awards went to Alison Chabot of Sonora High School and Dane Burns of Mother Lode Christian School in Tuolumne.
