Prep Football Enters Final Weekend Of Regular Season Play

Sonora, CA — Prep football enters the final weekend of regular season play this evening with a number of traditional rivalries.

6-3 Sonora will host 8-1 Oakdale in the Valley Oak League. The STAR 92.7 broadcast will get underway at seven o´clock. Oakdale and Manteca are deadlocked for the league leadership with respective records of 8-1, but the Mustangs defeated the Buffalos 21-20 October 19.

In the Mother Lode League 2-7 Summerville will host Linden. The 93.5 KKBN broadcast will start at 7:15.

7-2 Calaveras will be at home to meet 5-4 Bret Harte. The Redskins have already wrapped up their third consecutive league title. Under Head Coach Roger Canepa, Calaveras has captured seven of the last 10 league titles and they´re headed for the playoffs for the 12th consecutive year. Should the Bullfrogs pull off an upset on the road they would also qualify for post-season play under their Head Coach Scott Edwards.
