CHP Office Could Be Moved To Law And Justice Center Site
Sonora, Ca — Tuolumne County has contacted the State of California about the possibility of moving the Jamestown CHP Office to the site of the proposed Law and Justice Center at the Hwy 108 and Old Wards Ferry Rd. intersection.
“Right now, proposals have been given (from the County), and the California Highway Patrol Headquarters will be looking at those proposals,” says CHP Officer Tom Wills.
The CHP Office is currently located at 18437 Fifth Avenue in Jamestown. Wills says that moving to a new location is something that the CHP has had on its radar.
“We know that we are a growing office, and this office will continue to grow along with the population of Tuolumne County,” notes Wills. “That´s one thing the California Highway Patrol has always been good about is growing with the communities.”
Besides the Law and Justice Center site, Wills says the CHP is also eying some state owned properties in Tuolumne County for the site of a new office.
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote on Tuesday whether to purchase the proposed Law and Justice Center property at Hwy 108 and Old Wards Ferry Rd.
