Elephant Makes Trek From Alaska To San Andreas

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, Ca — Early this morning, Maggie the Elephant arrived at her new home in San Andreas.

The 25-year-old elephant was flown in an Air Force C-17 cargo plane from Alaska to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield last night. After arriving at the base, she was transported by truck to the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in San Andreas.

The Air Force agreed to transport the elephant after officials with PAWS and the Alaska Zoo discovered that she was too big for a commercial airline.

Maggie had been the sole elephant at the Alaska Zoo in Anchorage. She will now have 30 acres to share in San Andreas with nine other elephants.

According to PAWS, former “Price Is Right” host Bob Barker pledged $750,000 to make the move possible.
