2007 First Responder of the Year Awarded To Holmes
Firefighter/Engineer William Holmes was named 2007 First Responder of the year through Mountain Valley EMS Agency.
Firefighter William Holmes has been a volunteer Firefighter/First Responder with Central Calaveras Fire & Rescue since July 17th 2001. Firefighter William Holmes provides senior leadership on and off the fire ground, and within the organization while attending all district training. Firefighter William Holmes is a certified NWCG/CICCS Firefighter (Type-11), EMS-FR; CPR/AED certified; HazMat 1st Responder “FRO Level”; HazMat FRO Decon and ICS-200 Certified.
Firefighter William Holmes started his career in public service during a stint in the US Navy. He then served the community of Oakland for 25 years with the Oakland Police Department. After retiring from Oakland PD he worked another 10 years with the Contra Costa Sheriff´s Department in the Fraud Division. When Firefighter Holmes and his wife moved to Sheep Ranch in 2001 he joined Central Calaveras Fire. He also is a HAM Armature radio operator and belongs to the Masonic Lodge in San Andreas. Firefighter William Holmes always provides outstanding and competent patient care to our district patients, and performs these EMS functions with confidence and skill.
