Sonora Man Charged With Robbery Following Trespass Incident

Sonora, Ca — 28-year-old Cody Lee Collins of Sonora faces charges of robbery and making terrorist threats following a Tuesday afternoon incident on Vilas Ln.

During the three o´clock hour, the Sheriff´s Department received a call that he and a group of others were trespassing on private property.

The owner was taking down the license plate numbers of the vehicles involved when Collins grabbed his notebook and threatened the victim. When the unnamed victim was walking away from the group, he reportedly heard gunshots fired.

Deputies discovered enough evidence, including several large caliber rifle rounds, to arrest Collins.

Also arrested at the scene was 33-year-old Antonio Javier Aguilar. He was booked and then released on out-of-county Fish and Game and traffic misdemeanor violations. Collins remains in custody on $50,000 bail.
