Gaskill To Depart Sonora Union High School District
Sonora, CA — Effective December 31, 2007 Rob Gaskill will be leaving his post as superintendent of the Sonora Union High School District.
Gaskill has accepted the superintendent´s position with the Cabrillo Unified School District which serves approximately 3,800 students residing in and around the coastal communities of Half Moon Bay, El Granada and Montara.
Gaskill has been with the S.U.H.S. District for eight and a half years. He readily admits that he thought this position would be the last stop in his educational career. However in looking through a trade publication he learned of the position and calling himself and his wife “ocean people” decided to apply for the position.
Two rounds of interviews preceeded a visit in Sonora with Cabrillo officials. Thursday evening the Michigan native attended a Board meeting in Half Moon Bay and was officially appointed to the position.
Gaskill´s annual financial package will jump from $153,000 to $189,000.
