Strawberry, Ca — One of the buildings that was not burned down at Kennedy Meadows this week was the Saloon, which gave Julie Chaffee, a summer worker at the resort, an idea for a fund-raiser.
“We´re going to fill it (saloon), and stock it,” says Chaffee. If people want to come and help raise a little money, that is a great way they can help.”
Proceeds will be used to help in the rebuilding effort. This weekend the Saloon at Kennedy Meadows will be open Saturday (10-6) and Sunday (10-7) from 4-8pm.
According to CAL Fire, the October 1 blaze resulted in $1.5 million in damages. Considered a total loss were the Main Lodge, seven cabins, a laundry house, one shower house, a public restroom, the generator shed, a tool shed and an H2O heater shed.
