Sacramento, CA — The Outdoor Writers Association of California has named Republican Senator Dave Cogdill as “Californian of the Year.”
Cogdill was recognized by the association for his efforts to reform the state´s fish stocking program through the passage of AB 7.
AB 7 has dedicated one-third of fishing license revenue to fishing-related programs at the Department of Fish and Game to ensure that the millions of dollars in fees paid by anglers would be used for the programs that would benefit fishing and support fisheries.
Cogdill will receive the award at a Ironstone Vineyards Outdoor Writers Association of California ceremony Sunday evening, October 7th.
