Citizens For Responsible Growth Comment On Lowe’s Ruling

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — The group that filed the suit against the City of Sonora for its handling of the Lowe´s Home Improvement Center project feels vindicated following the decision released today by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

“It´s been a lot of effort, and it is kind of unfortunate that we had to go through all of this,” says Lisa Vaughn, President of the Citizens for Responsible Growth. “I am glad that it is to the point where it is out and we can move forward to work to assure that whatever does happen is going to be done properly, and going through that process will make things better for the project in the end.”

One of the main points of the 49 page writ, is that the City, California Gold Development Corporation and Lowe´s must combine the realignment of the Old Wards Ferry Rd. railroad crossing and the construction of the store into one single project. It was originally designed to be two separate projects.
