Police Arrest Sonora Man For Leaving Scene Of Accident
Sonora, Ca — 43-year-old Lloyd Johnson of Sonora found himself behind bars Monday after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident.
Shortly after 3pm, the Sonora PD was dispatched to a report of a vehicle accident in the area of Washington St., and Cowan St. Upon arrival, they were unable to locate any vehicles.
Witnesses told officers that the driver of an International Travel-All struck a rock wall on Washington St. after veering to the right for an unknown reason. The officers followed a trail of vehicle fluids to Orchard Ave, approximately one-half mile from the accident scene, and located the vehicle, the driver and a passenger.
The passenger, 37-year-old Julie Johnson was reportedly complaining of head, neck and stomach pains as a result of the accident. She was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
Lloyd Johnson was placed under arrest for felony hit and run. Johnson told officers that he didn´t want to block traffic following the accident, so he left the area and drove home.
