Tuolumne County Jail Issue To Highlight Supervisors Meeting

Sonora, CA — At 1:30 this afternoon Tuolumne County Administrative Officer Craig Pedro will conduct a presentation regarding the proposed $4.2 million purchase of two parcels of land for the express purpose of constructing a new Law and Justice Center.

The Board will be asked to approve a contract for the purchase of 47.68 acres of real property from the Gardella Family at the intersection of Hwy 108 and Old Wards Ferry Rd. The Board will also be asked to consider approving a contract for the purchae of real property from the Martin Family for the Law and Justice Center south of Sanguinetti Loop and Cedar Rd. for an exchange of property and easements.

At 10:30 the Board will hear a presentation from the Tuolumne River Trust regarding the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Water System Improvement Program´s Environmental Impact Report (PEIR). That will be followed by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission presentation on its own PEIR.

The Board will then be asked to approve the City and County of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Water System Improvement Program´s PEIR comment letter to the San Francisco Planning Department and adopt a resolution opposing additional water diversion (25 million gallons per day) from the Tuolumne River.

At six o´clock this evening, the Board will conduct a Beilenson Hearing at the Groveland Community Hall (18720 Main Street) to consider the closing, reduction or elimination of services at the Groveland Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in conformance with Public Health and Safety Code Sections 1255.1 and 1442.5.
