Four Arrested On Drug Charges After Vehicle Stop On Tuolumne Rd.
Sonora, Ca — Four were arrested on drug charges following a vehicle stop on Tuolumne Rd. Monday.
A Sheriff´s deputy pulled over a van driven by 35-year-old David Louis Phelps at 5:35pm, because he knew that the van´s registration tags were fraudulent. When the van came to a stop, all of the occupants attempted to walk away. They were then ordered back to the vehicle, and the investigation began.
Inside the van were small quantities of methamphetamine, syringes, needles and meth pipes. A 17-year-old female was allowed to leave the scene, while the four others in the vehicle were taken into custody.
They include Phelps, 37-year-old Christopher Earl Crouch, 24-year-old Tommi Michelle Block and 22-year-old Matthew Ty Day.
Block was later taken to a local hospital after showing signs of an overdose. The Sheriff´s Department says she allegedly ingested methamphetamine when the van was pulled over so that it would not be located by a deputy.
