Santa Clara County Fire Invades The Mother Lode

Santa Clara County, CA — The 5,000 acre Lick Fire within Henry Coe State Park two miles north of Mt. Sizer in Santa Clara County is the cause of the majority of the smoke and discolored skies in the Mother Lode.

According to CAL FIRE, this fire ignited at 1:45 Monday afternoon. It is considered only 10 percent contained at the noon hour.

Resources being utilized include 727 personnel, 50 CAL FIRE engines, seven CAL FIRE air tankers, four helicopters, eight CAL FIRE dozers and five water tenders.
