Numerous Issues Came Before Tuolumne County Board Of Supervisors

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — At today´s meeting, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors tabled a vote on whether to lease the former Groveland Adult Day Health Care center to the non-profit Southside Senior Services, Inc.

The building has sat vacant since 2006. The lease would be for a period of ten years, at a cost of $1 per year. The Board will continue discussion on the issue during its September 18th meeting.

In other business, the Tuolumne County Public Library´s 2020 Vision Plan was approved unanimously. Head Librarian Connie Corcoran told the Supervisors that some of the goals are to encourage life-long learning, expand outreach services to communities without branches, support diverse needs and increase community involvement in the library.

The Board also approved contracts to house wards from the county in juvenile detention type facilities in other areas of the state. Since the county does not have its own facility, agreements were approved with Yolo County, Edorado County and the Fouts Springs Youth Facility.
