Calaveras Moves To Entice New Employees
San Andreas, CA — In an effort to attract new employees, Calaveras County may revamp its salary and incentives program.
Tuesday the Board of Supervisors will consider adding certain incentives and increasing salaries to make working for the county more appealing.
Staff is recommending a 12 percent increase for the Planner III position, of which there are currently two vacancies. Staff says this emergency salary adjustment is needed due to the department´s backlogged workload.
Also proposed for that position, and a few engineering positions as well, are recruitment, relocation and retention incentives. Traditionally such incentives in Calaveras have only been used for department heads.
Also Tuesday the board will meet in a closed session to discuss filling the County Administrative Officer position, which Tom Mitchell will leave vacant on October 12.
The board meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the county Government Center in San Andreas.
