San Andreas, CA — This Saturday the San Andreas C.H.P. office and the Angels Camp Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint between 7:30 and 11:30pm.
The location of that checkpoint will be announced shortly before it opens.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to target those drivers that are driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.
Last Saturday the Sonora area C.H.P. office in conjunction with the Sonora Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint near Sierra Motors in Jamestown. According to Officer Tom Wills 10 sobriety tests were administered, one D.U.I. arrest was made, five vehicles were impounded and 12 citations were issued for improper drivers licenses.
