Yankee Hill Fire Update

The fire burning between Yankee Hill Rd. and Italian Bar Rd near Columbia, is now estimated at 30 – 35 acres and is 5% contained.
The following roads have been closed due to the fire:
Yankee Hill Rd, Orion Mine Rd, Italian Bar Rd, Cattle Drive Trail, and Big Hill Rd.
25 homes are being evacuated on a voluntary basis along Yankee Hill Rd and Mountain Boy Mine Rd. by the Tuolumne County Sheriffs Department.
One firefighter has been injured; a broken arm.
