San Andreas Area Vegetation Fire Estimated At 60 Plus Acres

San Andreas, Ca — The vegetation fire near Hwy 49 and Gold Strike Road, northwest of San Andreas, is currently estimated at 60 plus acres according to CAL Fire.
It is located in steep terrain and is in a canyon. Portions of Hwy 49, near Gold Strike Road remain closed at this time. There is not an estimate as to how soon the roadways will re-open. CAL Fire reports that no structures are currently at risk, and there are no evacutation orders at this time.
On scene are 14 state engines, seven local engines, 10 hand crews, three dozers, four tankers, two helicopters and other resources.
