Sonora, CA — 27 year old Timothy Ray Martin of Sonora was killed in a motorcycle accident on Hwy 108 last night west of Hess Ave.
According to the Highway Patrol report Martin was traveling between 60-65mph when he lost control of his 1981 Honda motorcycle colliding with a wood and metal guardrail.
Passersby administered CPR but Martin succumbed to his injuries at Sonora Regional Medical Center.
CHP Officer Tom Wills says it appears that alcohol played no part in the accident. The cause could have been a mechanical breakdown of the 26 year old motorcycle or the rider´s inexperience.
Tuolumne County has now registered 11 fatalities this year with four of those involving motorcycles.
