South County Teens Arrested For Beer Theft

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Teenagers from Moccasin and Groveland spent a portion of their weekend in the Tuolumne County Jail for petty theft and shoplifting.

18 year old Jacob Raymond Klein, wearing only boxer shorts and a t-shirt and reportedly intoxicated, grabbed and dropped an 18 can pack of beer at Flyers on Mono Way.

At the same time 19 year old Clayton Ward Holt of Groveland, who also appeared to be intoxicated, attempted to purchase a 12 can pack of beer. The clerk denied the sale due to Holt´s apparent intoxication.

Klein then grabbed an 18 can pack off the shelf and bolted from the store to a waiting pickup truck. C.H.P. officers made contact with those in the truck and the pair was identified by the clerk through a surveillance video.

Klein and Holt were subsequently arrested and booked into the County Jail.
