Sonora, CA — At this evening´s Sonora City Council meeting, there will be consideration of approving the allocation of $71,500 of redevelopment tax increment funding to purchase from P.G.& E. 23 decorative street light fixtures.

City Administrator Greg Applegate labels the purchase an exciting redevelopment project for Sonora sensing the streetlights will be a perfect fit for the historic downtown Sonora area. Applegate is hopeful the street lights will be in place and operative prior to the annual Christmas Parade.

Also this evening before closed session City Attorney Richard Matranga will update the Council on any potential new developments regarding the litigation between the Tuolumne County Citizens For Responsible Growth and Lowe´s-California Gold Development Corporation. Applegate did not expect any new revelations. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Fresno is scheduled to review the respective briefs Wednesday, August 29th.

The 5pm City Hall meeting is open to the general public.
