Diaz And Ford Promoted Within Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff Jim Mele has promoted two detectives to the rank of sergeant.

16 year veteran Ken Diaz, a San Jose Police Academy graduate, started his Sonora career in the County Jail. For the past five years Diaz has served as president of the Deputy Sheriff´s Association.

A.J. Ford has also been promoted to the rank of sergeant. He has spent 15 years in law enforcement working the past couple of years in the narcotics unit of the detective division. Ford led two extensive undercover and arrest operations code named Dragnet and Jackpot.

Both Diaz and Ford have been transferred to the patrol division where they are starting their supervisory experience.
