Calaveras Supes Convene Special Meeting On Jail
San Andreas, CA — What would normally be a day off for the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors has turned into a day of special meetings focused on a new jail.
Typically the board does not meet on the fifth Tuesday of any month but felt the jail issue was important enough to call a special meeting.
The board will discuss a financing plan for a new jail and the results of a public opinion survey regarding a bond measure for a new facility.
The board may even take action calling for a bond election on November 6 and hire a consultant to provide bond counsel services.
The special meeting will take place at 1 p.m. at the County Government Center in San Andreas.
