Peaceful Valley Rd. Fire In Mopup Stage
Sonora, CA — CAL FIRE Investigator Rommie Jones reports the east Sonora area noontime vegetation fire was caused by an errant cigarette.
The address of property is 14740 Peaceful Valley Rd. Jones reports conditions were ripe for a fire because the extremely dry grass has been clipped several weeks ago. Jones added the grass is as dry as hay because of the mild winter and warm sometimes hot weather in June and July.
As reported earlier no structures were damaged and no injuries were suffered by fire personnel or nearby residents.
