San Andreas, CA — 18 year old Joshua Brown of Murphys would probably admit that learning to drive can be a painful experience.
Monday afternoon Brown was driving westbound on Hwy 4 with his father at approximately the speed limit when he allowed his vehicle to drift to his left crossing the solid double yellow lines. Brown overcorrected and the vehicle eventually left the southside of the roadway striking a tree, a fence and finally a set of bleachers located on the north side of Feeney Park on the upper field.
Brown and his father, 50 year old William, complained of pain to their legs. The 2002 Volkswagen suffered major damage to the right front quarter and the hood.
Brown´s father was teaching his son how to drive. The youth was in possession of a “learner´s permit.” No citation was issued by the C.H.P.
