Domestic Dispute Led To Mokelumne Hill Death
Mokelumne Hill, Ca — The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department has been investigating a vehicle accident, occurring earlier this week in Mokelumne Hill, which resulted in a death.
On Monday at 12:55pm, deputies were dispatched to the 9100 block of Hwy 26 to investigate a vehicle accident death. Prior to the initial call, a domestic violence incident occurred between a man and woman. The victim reported that the suspect had threatened her and also threatened himself.
The victim attempted to flee from her residence in her vehicle, and the 38 year old suspect jumped in the back of her car. The victim reportedly sped away from her residence, while the suspect attempted to break out the rear window.
While the victim was negotiating through some turns, the suspect fell from the vehicle onto the highway. The suspect was flown to Mark Twain Saint Joseph´s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The names of the two individuals are not being released by the Sheriff´s Department. The department says it does not anticipate pressing charges against the female victim.
